Internal Regulations for Specialized Postgraduate Studies
Specialized postgraduate studies are organized by accredited institutions at the request and on behalf of employing organizations, based on their objectives in training specialists and within the framework of an agreement between the concerned training or research institution and the requesting organization(s).
The agreement must include the clauses related to:
- to the specialty offered and the programs of the envisioned training;
- to the personnel involved in the implementation of these programs;
- to the number of positions open for training;
- to the modalities of organization and management of internships in professional settings;
- to the financial and material burdens of the contracting parties.
Access to specialized postgraduate studies is open to candidates holding a long-term graduation degree or an equivalent recognized degree and demonstrating professional experience of at least three (03) years.
The specialized post-graduation takes place over twelve (12) months and includes:
- theoretical courses tailored to the specialty;
- guided work, practical work, and methodological seminars;
- internships in professional settings.
Attendance at all courses and internships scheduled in the curriculum is mandatory. After successfully completing all the theoretical and practical assessments, the candidate is authorized by the jury to undertake a professional internship, under the guidance of a thesis supervisor approved by the pedagogical committee.
The internship report is defended by the candidate before a jury of three (03) members, including the supervisor, appointed by the relevant scientific or pedagogical council from among the teachers and practitioners in charge of the training.
The candidate obtains the Specialized Post-Graduation Diploma, abbreviated as “DPGS,” when they have successfully defended their internship thesis. The specialized postgraduate diploma is issued by the Ministry of Higher Education, and it bears the mention of the specialty pursued.
