Objectives
Isolation and identification of pathogenic germs responsible for foodborne illnesses in various food matrices, in agro-industrial units, and in humans.
Study of the relationships between pathogenic microorganisms isolated from humans, the environment, and food matrices.
Study of the antibiotic sensitivity of the isolated strains.
Serotyping and genotyping of isolated strains.
Quality assurance in the food industry (Implementation of GMP/GHP within food processing units: SMEs/SMIs, quality assurance advice for these companies).
Establishment of a database on strains isolated from food and those isolated from humans, which should allow for the implementation of surveillance plans for various foodborne zoonoses.
Monitoring of the food chain regarding pesticide residues, heavy metals, and veterinary drugs.
Supervision of students for master’s and doctoral theses.
Publications, communications, organization of thematic days.
