In 2011, a doctoral school titled “Production, Hygiene, and Animal Health-PHSA” and located at ENSV was accredited in partnership with ENSA – National Higher School of Agronomy. Thus, 30 students (veterinarians and agronomists) divided into 5 options were enrolled. The thesis topics have been validated and are based on 3 laboratories: “Animal Health and Production” and “Food Hygiene and Quality Assurance System” from ENSV, and the “Animal Production” laboratory from ENSA.Doctorate
The ENSV obtained accreditation for doctoral training in June 2003. Access to registration for the State Doctorate is open to holders of a Master’s degree in Veterinary Sciences. Currently, 132 doctoral students are enrolled at ENSV in a PhD program in veterinary sciences across various disciplines: parasitology, animal science, veterinary epidemiology, toxicology, microbiology, physiology, and animal reproduction.Doctorate Regulations
The purpose of the doctoral thesis is to dedicate the candidate’s abilities to conducting original research work of appreciable quality and to significantly contribute to the resolution of scientific, technological, and socio-economic problems. Article 2.2: The doctoral thesis consists of the development of original research work that has been the subject of at least one (01) publication in a recognized scientific journal with a peer review process, and is sanctioned by the writing and defense of a thesis. Article 2.3: The candidate chooses a thesis topic in agreement with a thesis supervisor and must submit it upon their first registration. The subject of the doctoral thesis must belong to the same field of research as that of the master’s thesis. The chosen thesis topic is subject to the approval of the scientific council of the concerned university entity, or the scientific and pedagogical council of the accredited institution, which assesses its compliance with the priority research areas. The approved subject is recorded in the central thesis file. Article 2.4: The thesis supervisor regularly monitors the progress of the research work and reports on it annually to the relevant scientific and pedagogical council. Article 2.5: The defense of the doctoral thesis can only take place after a minimum of four (04) consecutive registrations. The maximum number of registrations is set at six (06). Exceptionally and upon duly motivated and detailed derogatory advice from the concerned scientific and pedagogical council, a 7th registration may be granted to the candidate. Article 2.6: The thesis defense takes place before a duly constituted jury composed of four (04) to six (06) members holding the rank of Professor or Senior Lecturer of higher education or Research Director. Article 2. 7: Thirty (30) days before the scheduled date of the defense, the thesis document is communicated to the designated members of the jury. Eight (08) copies of the thesis document must also be submitted by the same deadline to the relevant administrative bodies. Article 2.8: The defense takes place solemnly within the premises of the accredited institution where the candidate is registered, in a room designated for this purpose and on the date set by the head of the institution. Article 2.9: As soon as the defense is over, the jury members deliberate behind closed doors and render their decision. Article 2.10: At the end of the defense and following the jury’s deliberations, the candidate is admitted or postponed. Admission entitles the candidate to the mention “Honorable” or the mention “Very Honorable”; the candidate is awarded the title of “Doctor of Science.” The decree No. 57 Attached is the decree No. 547 of June 2, 2016, setting out the procedures for organizing postgraduate education,- Appendix No. 1: Doctoral student’s notebook, French version
